Ask the Headhunter

Author: Nick Corcodilos

Description

This guide to job hunting teaches readers: how to become a powerful candidate by looking beyond the job description; how to use “the four questions” to distinguish a right interview from a wrong one; how trying to get a job can land you in the wrong job.

Review

This is a great book which turns the arguably “broken” CV- and HR Dept-driven recruitment industry on its head. Even though it is aimed mainly at North American, high-tech job-hunters, I have found it is just as useful when seeking the right people to work or partner with, or for quoting/bidding for consulting projects.

The four basic questions that need to be answered, and which the book is built around, are just as important whichever direction you are coming from. Once again, a book to read through once and then refer back to, often, and never to forget when quoting for anything, or interviewing anyone. The advice given is real and proven, and comes from the real world of the successful Head-Hunter, not from the “other planet” of the HR Department.
