Benefits for you

Hi,

Why should you contribute to this website?

If you are in business then you may be seeking to attract customers to find your company or to build your personal reputation. If so you will have (or are about to get) a website.

[Haven't got a website yet? use the contact form for help and advice.]

Websites need visitors and you get them by being found in the search engines. Search engines rate a site through its relevance (content) and through its importance judged by the number and weight of the incoming links.  With a link from this site that holds a No5 position in the Google search then you are more likely to get a prominent position.

When you provide the reciprocal link that we request then that helps us to maintain and increase our ranking, a virtuous circle.

Because of the way that search algorithms work it is better that your link to one of our pages is not to the one that links back to you, these type of direct reciprocal links get heavily discounted. Your link should be of one of these two forms…

A. To the Home page (http://booksforbusiness.net/)

B. To another referrer page covering a topic that is relevant to your site’s content.

For example, if you are into project management then, on a page that discusses this subject, add a link to a resource on this site that is relevant in a sentence that emphasises the relevance. Like this…

“One book I found very helpful for me and clients working on a project team is ‘Simply Brilliant’ by Fergus O’Connell as it shows how a good dose of common sense really helps get results.”

And the HTML code for this is…

<p>One book I found very helpful for me and clients working on a project team is ‘<a href=”http://booksforbusiness.net/simply-brilliant/” target=”_blank”>Simply Brilliant</a>’ by Fergus O’Connell as it shows how a good dose of common sense really helps get results.</p>

Do ask, through our contact form, if you need some help with this. It does make a positive difference.

The second type of link takes abit more effort – but is far more effective as it has relevant words near to or in the link.

Email addresses

Please note – we do not post email addresses on the site. This is because it would then be far too easy for spammers to harvest them and you would not thank us for the ensuing spam emails!
